Employee Engagement
EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT BY THE NUMBERS
-
Our research study, Control, Opportunity & Leadership, revealed that a majority (69%) of HR professionals working in Canadian companies indicated that engagement was a problem in their organizations.
-
Disengaged employees present a mountain of problems for organizations to manage, from high turnover rates to low productivity to a strain on workplace culture to low customer satisfaction. The combination of these factors of disengagement are immense, and add up to cost North American businesses over $350 billion annually.
-
A recent study found that 40% of working Canadians are rarely or never provided career development support by their employers, and a similar amount of Canadians (39%) said they would leave their current position and take a pay cut for a position with a new organization that offered better professional development opportunities.
-
Considering only 64% of North American employees are labelled “engaged,” there is a tremendous opportunity for organizations to improve their workplace engagement levels.
